Q: Is there a list of all Accredited Texas-bred foals?
A: Yes, the TTA now has this information available online. Following is a list of all ATB foals broken down by year of birth. To find a specific name, sire or dam, simply use the “Search” feature included with Acrobat Reader, which is required to view this file. Keep in mind that many of these foals are unnamed so you may have to search by the dam's name.

Q: If my mare isn’t accredited when she foals, can I still get the foal accredited?
A: Yes, if the foal meets the other requirements, and the mare is subsequently accredited. In order to be eligible to receive Accredited Texas-Bred (ATB) breeder awards, the mare must be accredited prior to foaling or be accredited by paying the supplemental accreditation fee before December 31 of the foaling year of the subject horse. Then, whenever her accredited Texas-bred foal places first, second or third in any race in Texas, you will be eligible for breeder awards. (effective starting January 1, 2008)
Q: If an accreditation deadline is approaching and I do not have my Jockey Club Certificate of Registration, will I have to pay more money to accredit the foal?
A: Not if you submit an application and pay the fee by the deadline date. Fill out the application as completely as possible and submit the appropriate fee along with a note stating that you have not yet received the Jockey Club Certificate. You no longer need to send in your Jockey Club Certificate; instead, you will receive an attachment card that will verify the Accredited Texas-bred status of your foal. This card needs to be attached to the original Jockey Club papers.
Q: I have an ATB racemare. What do I need to do whenever I decide to convert her to broodmare status?
A: Complete a TTA Conversion Form and send it to the TTA office along with a copy of the front and back of the Jockey Club Certificate of Registration. There is no fee for conversions.
Q: When I claim an ATB horse at the track, and the stewards transfer the horse to me, or I buy an ATB horse from a sale, why do I still need to do paperwork with the TTA in order to get my awards?
A: The track DOES NOT contact TTA when a horse is claimed or changes hands, nor do the sales companies. In order for the TTA to pay any Owner Awards, the new owner must file (1) a completed Transfer of Accreditation Report (this form is found in every issue of The Texas Thoroughbred), which gives TTA the proper name and/or partnership or stable name, the address to send the awards to, phone number in case we need to contact the new owner, etc., and (2) a copy of both sides of The Jockey Club papers (front side showing pedigree and markings/back side showing current ownership), which gives physical proof that TTA is paying the right person or partnership. There is no charge for this transaction, but no Owner Awards will be paid without the paperwork. It is the owner's responsibility to get this paperwork to TTA.
Q: Why do I have to submit a copy of The Jockey Club Certificate each time I get a new horse?
A: The proof of ownership that we accept on the horse is (1) the Transfer of Accreditation Report which identifies the new owner and provides their tax information, and (2) the recorded, dated transfer of the horse on the back of The Jockey Club Certificate. This is what we accept in lieu of a bill of sale or any other legal document.
